Low growth, low investment, insufficient spend on infrastructure, weak bank lending to the corporate sector, and funding deficiencies of small and medium-sized enterprises are all causes of concern in Europe. To many, they point to fundamental problems in the financing of European companies and in Europe's financial systems. Are these concerns valid and do the structure and performance of the financial system lie at their heart? If so, what should be done to address them, and have the right policy prescriptions been identified to date?

CEPR is organising a launch meeting for the Green Paper which will take place in London on 6th February 2015. The event will be hosted by Banco Santander and will commence at 12.30. The speakers are: Colin Mayer (University of Oxford and CEPR), Stefano Micossi (Assonime General Director) and Marco Pagano (University of Naples Federico II and CEPR). The meeting will be chaired by Barry Naisbitt, Chief Economist (Banco Santander).

The first launch meeting of the Green Paper will take place in Milan and will be hosted by Bocconi University (Room N01, Piazza Sraffa 13). The event will commence at 11.30am with a welcome by Francesco Saita (Director, BAFFI CAREFIN, Bocconi University) and will be chaired by Donato Masciandaro (President, BAFFI CAREFIN and Intesa San Paolo Chair in Economics of Financial Regulation, Bocconi University).
